hey guys...
Seriously aku takde modal nak taip apa. Writers block babe. Actually not so much of a writer's block but I just had a lot of stuffs running on my head that I couldn't decide on what to write.
But after some soul searching... I think I am going to write about... motivation.
I am a kind of person who motivates myself through reading motivation books or just inspired by some verses that I could find from people that I admire. And yes, some of your status updates on FB are as inspiring as well. I am also inspired by my past experiences and those around me who are kind enough to share with me their life stories.
But honestly, I don't quite believe in these motivational courses that my company has been engaging with.
Let me share with you the latest course that I had to ENDURE because I had no choice. Not going? Show cause letter. Confirmed attendance but missed out? Pay my company RM250 for not showing up. So? I had no other options but to drag my pretty arse to this motivation course.
You see, I am not a big fan of honky-tonk motivation course. When I say honky-tonk, I don't believe in drumming the big mighty table and shout motivational war-cry for the whole room to hear. It is way backdated and childish. I mean, do we have to cry our heart out to profess our love for this company? I doubt it.
Plus, all these cheesy wordings they use to whip you up into a frenzy... it's just ridiculous.
You see, if you really sincere in doing what you have been doing at work, you will be motivated. Yes, work sucks at time, but when you are feeling down for not being able to achieve what you want, or when things don't go your way, you can always think of the good thing that can happen to you if you manage to solve the problem. Automatically, you will be driven to do your work, because, you know eventually you can do it. That is how I motivate myself.
Furthermore, always remember that there are people who have bigger shit that you do. Seriously. Because if you keep on having negative thoughts about your work, it will consume you in so many negative ways. You have to reframe your negative thoughts. You are the only one that can change yourself. No other motivation bullcrap can.
If you want to be motivated, read about leaders. Our Prophet Muhammad for instance, how he overcame all the obstacles to spread the word of Islam, and made me a Muslim today. He went through a hell lot you know? That alone, will make your problem looks damn small. And I also looked up to Tun Mahathir because he is a forward thinking person who doesn't care about what other people said about him. And so many other inspiring men and women who you can learn from, motivate yourself with. Not some honky-tonk, war-crying, table-drumming, cheesy-wording sales rules. Sorry..
So people, I am not a big fan, I am not sure about you guys, feel free to comment ;)
